The X-factor…

May 6, 2010

We are grateful to have the brilliant Banjo Mosele on our team.

Finally the music clearance got through. After months of waiting, we finally got clearance to use a song from the South African composer Sibongile Khumalo in our documentary series.

Because of the delayed clearance, we had to look for alternatives, and received several tips from known and unknown. They were all pointing towards the brilliant musician Banjo Mosele form Botswana – and now living in Norway. Luckily, he arrived Norway from Botswana on the day we contacted him.

We met, and he saw an offline version of our film and would be happy to contribute with any of his songs. Not only that, but he also knew the language spoken around Lesotho – and could help us translate the dialogue we could not understand.

This was of course an unknown factor for us in the editing. But we were lucky with our chosen lines. It turned out the translations enriched the material even further.

Thank you Banjo. And thank you Sibongile. And thank you Barabass for sending us in the right direction. And thank you Malika Makouf Rasmussen for the same.

Also thank you Rebeca and Sheridan at Sony in Norway and South Africa. And thank you Jonas, Hampus and Christoffer at Sonyatv in Sweden.

We are grateful for your help.

There will be music!

April 23, 2010

The music is composed by the multitalented Eugene Guribye.

We are honored to have such a multi-talent such as Eugene Guribye working with us again.

It should come as no surprise, since he has already composed the music to Mission Mongolia and The Cruellest Journey, both documentary films produced by Arild Mehn-Andersen and AMEHN production.

He is a person it is not easy to describe, barely finishing his PhD before starting his post doctoral research, and at the same time committing several records as Get On. Check his project on Voices and Electricity.

He has a peculiar interest in Kid Huts and are constantly looking for places with faces.

He is currently hiding behind the alias Professor Waffel in the experimental group; Hemmelig Tempo.

Arild Mehn-Andersen meets Karl Bartos from legendary Kraftwerk.

by:Larm was recently arranged with concerts and showcases on known and unknown venues in Oslo.

AMEHN production was there with a film team to document some of the seminars, Q & A’s and lectures, so that also You, and not only the invited delegates, can learn from the masters.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn first hand from the founders of Creation Records and Rough Trade how the indie scene developed as a counterculture.

For an old music lover, it was also memorable to meet Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk and Peter Hook from Joy Division.

Eurosonic

January 15, 2010

In January 2010 the Association of Live Music Promoters Norway went to the Eurosonic Festival in Holland to present Norwegian music festivals and venues to the international market.

This was done with a video presentation by us, covering the whole range of music festivals in Norway, both urban and highly remote.

And yes! There are some spectacular scenery some of these festivals are situated in.
